Student Research Conference 2019

Student Research Conference of the Third Faculty of Medicine will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. Similarly to previous years, the conference will be divided into lectures and poster section, with the majority of the poster presentations. Special independent committee will assign the abstracts into the sections. The poster session will take the form of moderated discussion with a 5-minute presentations of the competitor.

Excuse from lessons

There is a possibility to obtain an excuse from compulsory lessons during the conference. You can ask for the excuse at registration, which will take place from 8:00 in the foyer of the faculty.

Information for the lectures

In the section of presentations you will have 15 minutes to present your project, which are mandatorily divided into 10 minutes speech and 5 minutes discussion with an expert committee. Please send us your presentation till Monday, May 19, 23:59 to, so we can upload your presentation into the computer and save time between speakers.


Information for the posters

The poster session will take the form of moderated discussion with a 5-minute presentations of the competitor. We highly recommend to divide these 5 minutes into the 3 minutes speech and 2 minutes discussion with an expert committee. The discussion is required in all posters.

Below you will find important instructions on poster design, which you should carefully read and follow. Posters which fulfill criteria for free printing will be printed and hanged by organizational team.

All posters must fulfill the following criteria:

  • paper size A0

  • state Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and use the official logo of the faculty (see

  • contain the Posterbanner of the conference at the bottom of the poster

  • poster should be writen in English

  • posters will be printed free of charge if delivered according to the guidelines below. Posters delivered in an unsuitable form will not be printed and participants will have to print their posters on their own. It is mandatory to present a printed poster at the conference in order to obtain credits

  • posters for print have to be delivered until 6 May 2015 12 p.m. on (if the file should exceed 10 MB, please use any form of file transfer service and provide the link to download the file)

Guidelines for poster formatting for free printing:

  • file type .pdf

  • paper size A0 (841 x 1189 mm) + 10 mm bleed (definition of bleed

  • save zone 10 mm

  • resolution 150-300dpi.

  • Microsoft Powerpoint (in older versions there could be a problem with bigger resolutions)
